The Crescent Care Group is based in South Wales and was set up in 1990 to provide supported residential care for adults with a learning disability and/or mental health needs. Each home is registered with the Care & Social Services Inspectorate for Wales.
Our aim is to empower and support service users to lead happy lives to their maximum capacity and independence. We seek to achieve this aim by providing a sufficient level of encouragement, facilitation and support to empower and enable service users to live their lives within the limits of their desires and capacity. The care settings are run as small "family" units with service users having a full say in the day to day running of the setting.
We provide a supported residential care service to adults with a learning disability, mental ill health or both of these. Whilst service users are offered a place in one of the settings for as long as we can meet their assessed needs, we recognise that some service users will only use our services for a limited period of time and may move on to a more independent living setting in the future. Conversely we provide support for service users who have been with us since 1990. All service users are encouraged to view the service setting as their home.
Our staff team is headed by Tim Dallinger, Chief Executive and Registered Manager. Tim has over 20 years experience in the care sector and manages two of the service settings. Tim also works in the service settings as a Social Care Worker on a regular basis.
Tim is supported by Teresa Collier, Director of Care Services and Registered Manager. Teresa has over 10 years experience in the care sector and manages one of the service settings. Teresa has responsibility for day to day "care" issues and manages a staff team of 12.
The staff team comprises two Deputy Managers with responsibility for maintaining standards in a service setting and 10 Social Care Workers to work across all service settings. The Crescent Care Group is committed to not using agency staff.
The Crescent Care Group has developed an in-house quality assurance system which assesses compliance with the Care Standards Act and National Minimum Standards. This quality system identifies the level of compliance for each Standard and ranks it in accordance with a Red, Amber, Green traffic light system. This is summarised as a single page report backed up by detailed analysis.

Training and Development
The Crescent Care Group regards training and development as the lifeblood of a care organisation. All staff are encouraged and supported to achieve NVQ at a minimum of level 2. This is in addition to a wide range of role specific training opportunities.
